Giles Partington

Giles joined the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit after being awarded a two year NIHR Pre-doctoral Fellowship in October of 2019 to investigate the use of expert elicited Bayesian priors for small scale trials in rare diseases. This will involve both a systematic review on how informative priors have been used in small population trials, alongside a comparison of alternative designs upon the small population trial in severe treatment resistant paediatric asthma (TREAT).

In 2019, Giles completed his MSc in Statistics with Medical Application at the University of Sheffield alongside working as a business, finance and HR statistician across a range of WPP media agencies. Giles has 7 years’ experience working as an analyst and statistician in the private sector and completed his BSc in Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Bath in 2012 in which he did a year’s placement as a student statistician for the Welsh Government investigating homelessness and housing data as well as lifelong learning education data.
