Statistical Methods for Contemporary Clinical Trials
Annie Wright
(She/her)

Annie Wright is a PhD candidate within the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU), funded by the NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Digital Health theme. Her research focuses on clinical trial methodology, with a particular interest in decentralised clinical trials (DCTs) and the use of digital health technologies to improve both statistical and operational efficiency.

As part of her doctoral work, Annie has conducted a systematic review of decentralised trials globally and has established a Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) group to explore perspectives on digital data collection in trials. She has also contributed to an NIHR Imperial BRC Digital Health-funded project investigating the barriers and facilitators to efficient trial designs in digital health, working in collaboration with Jack Elkes.
Before beginning her PhD, Annie worked as a clinical trials statistician at ICTU, where she was involved in studies such as the COV-Boost trial. She holds a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Dundee and an MSc in Applied Statistics in Health Sciences. Prior to joining Imperial, she worked at Queen Mary University of London as a trials and research statistician within the Women’s Health Research Unit, where she used large-scale datasets, such as the UK Biobank and Scottish maternity data, to answer research questions in women's health.
