Statistical Methods for Contemporary Clinical Trials
Xiao Xuan Tan
(She/her)
Xiao Xuan is an NIHR Pre-Doctoral Fellow at Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU), studying the application of machine learning in RCTs, with the aim of identifying subgroups within trial populations that not only exhibit significant positive or negative outcomes but also experience varying degrees of adverse events.
She completed her MSci in Mathematics at Imperial College London in 2024. In 2023, she undertook an internship at ICTU under the supervision of Dr Rachel Phillips as part of Imperial’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP), where she investigated statistical methods for the analysis of adverse event data in RCTs and developed an R package that generates visualisations for summarising adverse events in RCTs.
